The government will use the health care bill to take our guns away. When you apply for insurance or renew your plan check this box if you are a gun owner. Or they will just do a background check on you and tell you your premium is going up because you are a gun owner. Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

The problem with this country is BOTH the Democrats and Republicans. Anyone who seriously thinks that one side isn’t corrupt or slaves to Corporate America hasn’t done an adequate job of paying attention. To the Republicans: The GW administration will go down in History as one of the worst administrations. They eroded your constitutional rights, expanded the power of the wealthy elite, invaded countries under false pretenses, destroyed diplomatic relations with the rest of the world, and spent money like it was going out of style. To the Democrats: Obama is a dud. He promised much and has turned out to be another corporate lackey. He made deals with big pharma to ensure you could not get your medication cheaper elsewhere, he flip flopped on military tribunals, he refuses to fix health care properly through nationalization or single payer, he populates his inner circle with more Wall Street insiders, he spends money on bailouts and useless stimulus packages.

In response to Renee Green’s comment: Based on the 2006 gun death figures, 30,000 people were killed that year by firearms (homicide, suicide, idiots). The risk is real and will probably become even more critical when terrorists
become active here. As to phantom ‘gun grabbers’, all you have to do is review the firearm restriction laws in the several states and the number of federal gun laws already on the books, much less the draconian ones waiting in the wings, to clearly see the intent of our “leaders” to insure their own safety by disarming the people. It must be understood that one of the first actions of any authoritarian state is to disarm the citizens, as it would be virtually impossible to impose your will on anyone who can stand on their own two feet with their rifle in the hand and say “No”! There is your threat.
As to your living 50 years without ever touching a gun, I’m happy for you; unfortunately, there are other sections of this wonderful land that are obviously not as gentle as you little corner of paradise.

Well I think the people in power better ask the military people if they will fire on a fellow american.I think they will refuse. Now if the UN who should be out of the United States and the United states should be out of the un,now if they are dumb enough to bring foreign troops in to get my gun, well, I think that would be a big ass mistake,I am an old man with nothing to lose, and damn, I can still hit a one half inch dot at 100 yards,so go figure, I am keeping my guns, end of story, alan

Oh my goodness! It sounds so simple and the logic is very clear. Those in power are afraid of the people that put them there with the trusted vote. They know they have to pass the obamacare this year because a lot of them are not going to be there next year. Same goes for the anti-gun people. What a crock when you see that we Americans – “One Nation Under God” who are locked and loaded are the reason we can walk most streets and not be too concerned. If the criminal thinks they may be looking down the barrel of a loaded weapon in the hands of a frightened free citizen, they are going to look elsewhere to promote their evil. May we all pray that One Nation Under God is not forgotten by all of us in this down hill slide that we are experiencing at this time due to the Pelosi’s and her cohorts that feel they are above the law. It was what started over two hundred years ago so that we would not only be our brother’s keeper but those of our neighbors as well. May you continue to be blessed and free!
