Another example of our freedom going down the drain! May I ask to whom are these weapons going to be distributed to? Between the dept of education and IRS I doubt if very many of their employees are gun owners if indeed have ever handled a firearm before! Talking about a dangerous situation, let’s keep those weapons in the hands of trained professionals. I suppose these guns could have helped the IRS in stopping the guy with the plane who smashed into their building a few weeks ago. Come On Now!

This does sound fishy at first glance. But consider that all federal buildings have security, and there are firearms lockers in every one. Since the Dept of Education does not have a parent organization, they must have their own security teams.
I don’t think the Department of Education should even exist, least of all use our tax money (which is supposed to be to educate our kids)to buy weapons to be used against us. Just one more exhibit of Fascism/Nazism. The American people had better wake up, research true history, and stand up against the tyranny of this out of control government and their patsies. So, why is the DOE buying shotguns that would require a special permit in CA, DC, NYC, and other havens of despotism?
Yes, of course. The right of the people to keep and bear arms… Everyone has the right to keep and bear arms. The laws that we cannot carry in local, state, and federal buildings, parks, and schools is bogus.
If the dept of education (and states) would allow firearms in the schools, we wouldn’t have the killings.
I think our schools should be armed in case of a gunman coming in otherwise they are at his mercy.
The issue isn’t with people having the guns. I’m all for teachers and responsible citizens being armed on school grounds. However, the second amendment doesn’t say “the right of the government to arm whomever they choose in an attempt have either protect or repress those with whom they are charged”, it says “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” To me this means that those private citizens who choose to purchase, train with and carry firearms should be allowed to carry them, those who could find themselves in a dangerous situation shouldn’t HAVE to and this is more of a right to choose for the employees wherever these shotguns will be stored, should there be an attack.
I like the idea. If more teachers had guns on them, these idiot kids that shot up the place would have started, but they would not have made it as long. One thing though is they may be armed, but they need to be trained.
And WHO is going to train these folks in using such a weapon? The next thing is we will have to pay for safes to lock these guns up. Remember, we must have our guns out of the reach of children in our homes, so I would think this is true of the schools. Most schools have police officers on the grounds. I don’t really think we need these type of weapons. After all, this is America not China! Or at least that’s what I thought.
