House Democrats Poised to Pass Universal Gun Registration

February 12, 2019

On Wednesday, February 13th, House Democrats on the Judiciary Committee are poised to pass their long anticipated universal gun registration bill, H.R. 8.

Led by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who is a longtime puppet for Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), it is expected that H.R. 8 will sail through the committee on a party line vote the day before the 1 year anniversary of the Parkland, FL shooting.

Nadler carefully planned his committee vote to time up with the Parkland anniversary.

Even though so-called “gun free” zones are the real reason why mass shooters get away with literal murder, H.R. 8 was drafted in such a way to specifically end the private sale of firearms in the United States – something that Americans have enjoyed and respected since the founding of the nation.

For starters, H.R. 8 will:

*** Ban outright all private firearms sales -- requiring every gun purchase to be pre-approved by the federal government at YOUR expense.

*** Force all firearm purchases to be registered through the Brady-NICS registration system.

*** Do nothing to stop criminals from obtaining firearms.

“The National Association for Gun Rights opposes H.R. 8 in the strongest possible terms,” said Dudley Brown, President of NAGR.

A recent study published by the Bureau of Justice Statistics confirms the fact that violent criminals steal their firearms, pass background checks, or purchase them from the black market.

This bill is nothing but a direct affront to the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans all across the nation.

It will do nothing to stop any mass shooting, as almost every mass shooter in the United States has passed a Brady registration check, but it will successfully funnel gun owners into a giant government database, and turn normal citizens into felons for wanting to sell their own property to a family friend or neighbor.

Pelosi and House Democrats have made passing H.R. 8 one of their top priorities in the first 100 days of Congress – so it is possible the bill comes up for a full House vote very quickly.

Republicans in the House Second Amendment Caucus, led by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) have been sounding the alarm on how H.R. 8 will actively punish honest gun owners, while doing nothing to deter crime.

Stay tuned for more updates.
