Republican’s Political Career Ends After Endorsing Gun Control

Following the tragedy at Uvalde, TX, Republicans, left and right, began caving to the anti-gun demands to “do something.”

Nearly all GOP lawmakers nationwide rejected major gun control measures like bans on so-called “assault weapons,” and bans on standard-capcity magazines.

But one New York Republican, Chris Jacobs, said in his own words, “I think I just committed political suicide,” after he endorsed the aforementioned measures.

Gun owners in the Empire State were quick to react, urging him to reverse course.

Days later, Jacobs bowed out of his re-election bid to the U.S. House of Representatives, likely ending his political career forever.

Jacobs likely knew gun owners in New York would relieve him of his duty of serving them in Congress, if he continued his re-election bid.
