Vote on Background Check Bill Scheduled in the House

February 22, 2019

After weeks of posturing and threats of passing new gun control in the House, Speaker Pelosi is officially moving forward with the first of many anti-gun bills as early as next week.

As reported by The Hill:

“The House is set to vote on legislation next week to enhance background checks for gun purchases as Democrats seek to move quickly on a top priority since taking the majority.”

As you know, expanded background checks will do nothing more than create a de facto Universal Gun Registration system that would put gun owners into a national database the gun grabbers will be able to use to track each and every one of us!

To make matters worse, The Hill is also reporting another bill will be voted on at the same time in order to maximize on the Speaker’s gun control agenda:

“The second bill, authored by House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), would lengthen the review period for a gun sale. King is also a co-sponsor, as well as Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-S.C.).

“Current law allows a gun sale to proceed if a background check isn't complete within three days. Clyburn's bill would extend the review period to 10 days and allow a buyer to request a review if the background check hasn't been done by then. The gun sale can go forward if another 10 days go by without a response from the background check system.”

If allowed to pass, these bills will set a dangerous precedent for the passage of new gun control bills as long as Speaker Pelosi controls the House.

It is the responsibility of every pro-gun American to do everything in their power to stand against any unconstitutional gun control laws.

So please sign your “No Gun Control” petition and agree to your most generous contribution of $100, or at least $50 or $25 to help NAGR shut down these bills today.
