National Association for Gun Rights calls on Senate to immediately confirm Amy Coney Barrett
NAGR President Dudley Brown urges 4.5 million members and supporters to contact Mitch McConnell and their Senators
Washington, D.C. – The National Association for Gun Rights enthusiastically supports President Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court.
“Law-abiding gun owners see the desperate need for another strict constitutionalist on the Supreme Court – and we believe Judge Barrett will be an excellent Justice – someone who will defend our gun rights from the constant attacks by the far left,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.
Judge Barrett currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals in the Seventh Circuit, and has established herself as an excellent jurist, and originalist.
“During her tenure as a lawyer and Appellate Court Judge, Amy Coney Barrett has displayed the tenacity it will take to defend our most sacred liberties at the highest level. In her dissent of the 2019 Kanter v. Barr case, Judge Barrett took a bold stance in advocating for restoring and extending gun rights to more Americans,” said Brown.
Brown said his staff is already in the process of mobilizing the more than 4.5 million National Association for Gun Rights members and supporters to contact Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the Republican-controlled Senate, encouraging them to quickly confirm Judge Barrett to the High Court.
“There is no need to wait around until after the election. The Senate Judiciary Committee should make quick work of moving Judge Barrett’s nomination to the floor, and any Senator who respects the Constitution and our gun rights should vote yes to confirm Judge Barrett without reservation,” said Brown.
The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
