Embrace of Obama-style control a slap to gun owners, Trump supporters
Washington, DC - President Donald Trump’s comments regarding firearms yesterday drew a heated response from Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.
“I echo the frustration and disappointment of millions of gun owners across the country, now that President Donald Trump is in full retreat from the liberal media’s pressure over gun control. While I held out hope that the 2016 version of Donald Trump from the campaign trail would win out, it sadly appears that ‘D.C. Donald’ is vying with Obama to be Gun-Banner-in-Chief.
By pandering to the likes of California’s grandmother of gun control Dianne Feinstein, he’s turning his back on the supporters who elected him and to whom he pledged to defend the Second Amendment. Trumps own words today are a slap across the face of every gun owner who voted for him. I’d encourage Trump to ask Bill Clinton or Al Gore how crossing gun owners worked out for them in 1994 and 2000.
Regardless of the current occupant of the White House, our 4.5 million members and supporters will continue to steadfastly oppose all gun control, Republican or Democrat.”
