National Association for Gun Rights Condemns VP pick Tim Walz as Anti-gun

Aug 6, 2024

Washington D.C. – The National Association for Gun Rights condemns Vice Presidential pick Gov. Tim Walz as anti-gun, citing his history of signing gun control legislation and using his office to support a wide range of gun control measures.

“Harris picked her ideological twin in gun grabber Walz. There is no daylight between Harris and Walz when it comes to so-called ‘Assault Weapon’ bans and any other extreme gun control measure you can think of,” said Dudley Brown, president of the National Association for Gun Rights. “Harris and Walz want to strip the Second Amendment from the Constitution and make law-abiding Americans criminals with their anti-gun agenda.”

Last year governor Walz signed universal background checks and so-called “Red Flag” measures into law in Minnesota.

Walz also champions so-called “Assault Weapon” bans and is supported by gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety, which named him “2023 State Level Gun Sense Lawmaker of Year.”

“The message this VP pick sends is loud and clear, Harris-Walz are coming for your guns and an ‘Assault Weapon’ ban is on the top of their agenda,” said Brown.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s second largest pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members and supporters nationwide.
