NAGR Defends Universal Gun Rights at UN Conference in Geneva, Switzerland

Aug 20, 2024

Geneva, Switzerland – The National Association for Gun Rights defends universal gun rights at the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty conference in Geneva Switzerland today.

The Tenth Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (CSP10) is a gathering of representatives and ambassadors from dozens of nations and NGOs from around the world to discuss the UN Arms Trade Treaty and its implementation.

The National Association for Gun Rights has studied and followed the ATT since its inception and recognizes the threat it poses to citizen ownership of firearms.

Speaking before the conference Tuesday, NAGR President Dudley Brown criticized the treaty saying, “ Respectfully, while many here call for the universalization of the ATT, we have the opposite approach when considering the application of small arms control within a national framework.”

“NAGR maintains that citizens cannot be legitimately disarmed, without just and due cause, by any nation state,” said Brown.

2024 marks the 10-year anniversary of the treaty entering into force with some 115 countries now being parties to the Treaty.

“After listening to two long days of gun control and whining, it was our turn to bring your voice to the globalist gun grabbers. We let them know that as far as our members are concerned, U.N. gun control will never be implemented on our soil without a fight,” statement from Brown’s post to NAGR members and supporters on X.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s second largest pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members and supporters nationwide.
