PISTOL Act Introduced in Congress
Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) sponsors legislation repudiating the Biden administration

Washington, D.C. – Last week, Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) introduced the Protecting Individual Sovereignty Through Our Laws Act (PISTOL Act). Rep. Good’s legislation is a direct repudiation of the Biden administration and their attempts to regulate, and ban, AR pistol braces.

“I am grateful my friend Rep. Good has introduced this piece of legislation. Law-abiding gun owners are sick and tired of the ATF and the Biden administration chipping away at our right to keep and bear arms – and now that they want to turn millions of gun owners into felons overnight through their ridiculous pistol brace rule, this legislation couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.

The Justice Department recently published a rule which redefines pistols with a stabilizing brace attached to the buffer tube as a short barreled rifle, therefore subjecting these firearms to the draconian requirements of the National Firearms Act (NFA).

The PISTOL Act prevents the ATF from considering pistols with brace attachments to be short barreled rifles under the National Firearms Act, and legislatively defines what a pistol is for the purpose of being exempt from the NFA.

“The Biden Administration poses the biggest threat to the Constitutional rights of freedom-loving Americans that we have seen in decades – their unconstitutional attack on pistol braces sets a dangerous precedent for anti-gun legislators to further regulate firearm accessories in the future. The PISTOL Act is the right piece of legislation to fight back against another left wing gun grab.” concluded Brown.

The ATF reports that 1.4 million Americans currently own or intend to own stabilizing braces – and if their rule becomes law –millions of law-abiding citizens will either be taxed and forced into a federal gun database, or compelled to destroy their lawfully owned property.

The National Association for Gun Rights and the Virginia Gun Rights Task Force support Rep. Bob Good’s PISTOL Act legislation.

The National Association for Gun Rights is the nation’s second largest pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members and supporters nationwide.
